Obituary for James "Jimmy" Scrogham
James "Jimmy" Scrogham passed away peacefully at IU Hospice House in Bloomington on May 4, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Plymouth, IN on Oct 23, 1958 to Everett and Gleeda (Shields) Scrogham. The family moved to Bloomington in 1971 and Jim graduated from Bloomington High School South in 1977.
Jim and his brother Sonny started Scrogham Bros Construction in the mid 80's and Jim retired from there in 2011 to be full-time caretaker for their mother.
Jim enjoyed sitting by the ocean, watching Jeopardy and Nascar races, playing poker with the boys, flea marketing with his sister Barb, and spending time with nieces Jennifer, Denise and Alissa. He is survived by sisters Maridean Howard (Harold) of Rochester, IN., Gloria Howard (Denton) of Jonesboro, IN., Barbara Caves (Charlie) of Spencer, IN., Becky McIntosh of Bedford, IN., brother Sonny Scrogham (Sharon) of Spencer, IN., and many well-loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Keith and Roger, and sister Ruth Ann.
A memorial gathering will be held June 30, 2018 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Mississinewa Lake. Jim ​will be greatly missed.
