Obituary for Harry Andrew Hurley
Harry Andrew Hurley 1942 - 2018 Harry Andrew Hurley, born on December 28, 1942, passed away at Norton Healthcare Pavilion after a long illness on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 4:55 PM in Louisville, Kentucky. Harry graduated with honors from Valley High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from the University of Louisville. He taught junior high school and high school in the Jefferson County Kentucky School System. Harry, in his early teens, accepted Jesus Christ’s offer of eternal life, and has been Christ’s servant throughout his wonderful life. Although plagued by illnesses from age twenty until his passing, he never lost sight of heaven, his true home, where he has been reunited with his parents, Howard and Ruth (Schultz) Hurley. He is survived by his brothers Edward (Jean) Hurley of Ellicott City, MD, David (Carol) Hurley of Shepherdsville, KY, Ray (Patricia) Hurley of Louisville, KY and his sister, Janet (Rick) Asbury of Louisville, KY, as well as 6 nieces, 5 nephews, 5 grandnieces, 2 grandnephews, 1 great-grandniece, 1 great-grandnephew and 1 great-great-grandniece. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11 AM at Lynnhurst United Church of Christ located at 4401 Taylor Blvd, Louisville, KY 40215. The Reverend C. W. “Bud” Walther, Pastor Bob Kittendorf and Mr. William Ketterman will lead Harry’s friends and family in the celebration of Harry’s life. Lunch will be served in Lynnhurst's Fellowship Room following the service, all are invited. In lieu of flowers, friends and family are asked to donate to Harry’s favorite charity, the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (www.IFCJ.org).
